Do you want to try Lefkadas food? Would like to share this experience with your partner or new friends?
Twice per week, you are welcome to participate in our Lefkadas Traditional Cooking Class. The cooking session starts 5:00 p.m and takes about 4 hours or so.
You can easily reach the location of Alternative Lefkada in Lygia Village by car or by bus (200 meter away from bus station) or else we can arrange your transport.
After the warm welcome while enjoying your Greek coffee or Organik tea with fresh homemade cookies, your introduction to the Lefkadas local agricultural products and mountainous herbs begins. You will learn the story and secrets of olive oil & Benjami wine and tips about how to distinguish the top qualities. You will try, taste and smell different varieties of best Lefkadas wine, olive oil, honey and organic herbal teas.
Right after, the open garden kitchen is waiting for you to start our cooking class. The menu includes local varieties of vegetables, meat, cheese, organic eggs and diary products from local producers and all the food is cooked with top quality olive oil.
This is an indicative menu which may vary depending on the needs:
1.Pastitsada - Kokotos makaronada with homemade pasta (rooster with pasta)
2. Kolokithopitta glykia (sweet pumpkin pie with honey, nuts & raisin)
3. Lentils soup (Local lentils from Eglouvi village)
4. Riganada
5. Aliada (skordalia with potatoes)
6. Greek Salad sto carbeli
7. Salami and Sausage of Lefkada
8. Soumada (white creamy refreshment made from almonds) & unlimited quantity of best wine that comes from the rare variety of “Benjami".

10. Traditional Sweets Mantolato & Pasteli
11. Greek Yogurt with honey of Athani village & local spoon sweets
A tastefully decorated table is waiting for you to eat the food that you have prepared. There will be wine, soft drinks to accompany your meal. For Greeks a perfect dinner finishes with warm feelings and a round of Sirtaki dance.
A bicycle free service as well as a special area with Internet access and many comfortable garden furniture can accommodate whose that do not want to attend the cooking lessons but would like to join us for dinner later on at a reduce price. For our small guests a play ground area is provided.
